Saigon talks 50 Cent and new album with ThisIs50.com [VIDEO]

50 Cent swept the hip hop nation in 2003 with his series of singles and the release of Get Rich or Die Tryin,’ and Beg For Mercy with G-Unit. Record labels began looking for New York rappers with a true “gangsta” background. Just Blaze began working with Saigon, of Brooklyn, during this time, getting him a deal with Atlantic Records.

In many ways, Saigon compared to 50 Cent, as he had a muscular frame and had his run-ins with law enforcement. However, Saigon was not interested in glorifying that lifestyle, instead warning his listeners not to take that path. Saigon and 50 Cent did share a strong friendship, but it would fizzle when 50 Cent’s career took off, as communication was no longer there.

While it took Saigon some time, he finally released his debut album and has since even released his sophomore album. Now, Saigon is making his media rounds, speaking on both the album and his plans for the future. Saigon ended up stopping by ThisIs50.com, where he would deliver a previously untold 50 Cent story and would discuss his new album.
