Earlier this week, TMZ released footage of a physical altercation between Saweetie and Quavo from 2020. The two struggled over game console box after Saweetie initially lunged at Quavo. Saweetie ended up on the ground for a few minutes before leaving the elevator.
LAPD has since been investigating as this incident could be labeled as a domestic violence case. Charges could very well be on the table in the end. Now, Saweetie is addressing this situation to TMZ.
Saweetie revealed that this altercation did happen last year. The two were able to reconcile but according to her, there were other hurdles that caused her relationship with Quavo to fail. The two publicly broke up on Twitter last month as Saweetie claimed she was hurt and betrayed and also claimed she was cheated on.
“This unfortunate incident happened a year ago, while we have reconciled since then and moved past this particular disagreement, there were simply too many other hurdles to overcome in our relationship and we have both since moved on.”
At the time of their breakup, Quavo responded on Twitter by claiming that Saweetie “wasn’t the woman he thought she was.” Many believed that was a toxic tweet by the Migos rapper. Saweetie is now still doing very well with her music as her “Best Friend” single featuring Doja Cat is currently No. 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
