Saweetie Reveals That She Struggles With Mental Health, Due to Work Schedule; Feels She’s Being “Ran Into The Ground”

In 2021, Saweetie remains one of the most popular artists in the industry. She appeared on Doja Cat’s hit single, “Best Friend,” and also put out her “Pretty Summer Playlist Vol. 1” project. Last month, the Bay Area rapper also scored two 2022 Grammy nominations. These were for Best New Artist, and Best Rap Song. (Best Friend)

Now, Saweetie is opening up about the busy year that she’s had, as she revealed to People, that she’s been struggling with mental health. This is due to her work schedule, as well as needing to put in extra work, due to her team being so small.

“I try to take things day to day. Sometimes I can’t look at my calendar on my weekly schedule because it’ll give me anxiety. I feel like what I’m working for is starting to pay off, so I’m just really grateful to be acknowledged. I struggle with my mental health

“It’s like I live, sleep, eat and breathe music and business. My team is really small, so I have to take on responsibilities that eventually somebody else will, but because my team is small, I have to help them out.”

Saweetie added that she doesn’t have a therapist, and she barely has any time to see her friends, due to her schedule. For now, she’s simply trying to “thug it out,” heading into 2022. This is all while she believes she’s being “run to the ground,” and at some points, have had mental breakdowns.

Saweetie has also locked in various endorsement deals, this year. These include Crocs, as well as McDonald’s. Saweetie had her own Hidden Valley ranch Crocs shoes, and her own “Saweetie Meal,” at McDonald’s. In October, she also went on to perform on “Saturday Night Live.”
