Second person passes away from stampede a GloRilla concert
On Monday, it was reported that one person passed away at a GloRilla and Finesse2Tymes concert, in Rochester, NY, at the Main Street Armory. This was a result of a stampede that ensued at the venue, on Sunday night. It was revealed that that occurred due to the belief that gunfire was heard. The deceased victim went on to be identified as 33-year-old Rhondesia Belton. Police Chief David M. Smith stated that no gunfire occurred.
Therefore, two 35-year-olds were also listed in critical condition, and seven others were treated for non-life threatening injuries. However, it is now being reported that a second person has passed away, due to their injuries, according to the Associated Press. This victim is a 35-year-old woman, who’s identity was not revealed to the public.
As a result, another woman is still in critical condition. Seven people are also still being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
At this point, an investigation is still ongoing by police. Several causes of the stampede are listed to be possibly as a result of “crowd size, shots fired, pepper spray and other contributing factors.”
“We are going to hold people accountable for what happened last night, period,” added Rochester Mayor Malik Evans. “I intend to get to the bottom of this.”
GloRilla did take to Twitter to grieve with those affected. The Memphis rapper also expressed best wishes on no other injuries having occurred.
