Send-A-Package movement makes New York Times in new story

SAPEarlier this year, it was revealed that there would be a new service for prison inmates to keep up with current music trends. This was soon revealed to be Send-A-Package (sendapakacage.com), which puts current music on cassette tapes to give to inmates. A lot of major rappers have endorsed this, including Jadakiss and Uncle Murda.

Over the past year, a lot of the biggest media outlets have begun to take notice of the movement. In just the past few weeks, the owner Chris Barrett, has done interviews with both BET and FUSE TV. These interviews have helped raise awareness for the entire movement.

Founded and operated in New York City, the New York Times recently ran a story about the Send-A-Package service. In their article, they showcase all Chris Barrett is doing with his package and how he uses music as the focal point. The article can be read in its entirety at the New York Times here.
