Serayah talks “Empire” season two and wish list for Tiana

This past TV season, “Empire” took over the entire entertainment world, as the show proved hip hop’s power. Brought to the world by Lee Daniels, the primetime soap opera stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson. A divorced power couple, they run hip hop’s biggest record label.

Serayah plays the role of Tiana, an artist signed to the “Empire” record label and dating Hakeem (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray). In season one, Tiana had a supporting role. But, Serayah will be back for season two, which will feature many more episodes than episodes than season one.

Billboard sat down with Serayah and she talked about “Empire” going into the second season. Talking about the second season, Serayah discussed goals she has for her own character. Making a wish list, Serayah said she wanted the music to go into Tiana’s background, seeing how Ne-Yo was brought on to produce alongside Timbaland.
