Last night, the Golden State Warriors kept their season alive, with a Game 5 win over the Lakers. Nothing about this game was easy. Every time the Warriors looked like they had it, the Lakers came back. Given how safe Golden State’s lead looked at times, there were questions of if Darvin Ham would remove the starters to prepare for Game 6. Some said doing that could be dangerous. However, Anthony Davis’ injury is a reason why coaches pull players from pivotal games they’re losing.

Anthony Davis took an elbow to the face from Kevon Looney. As a result, he was unable to play for the rest of the game. This is actually a saddening situation, as Anthony Davis has been plagued by injuries his entire career. After going through so much, this season, it looked like AD was finally healthy. Thus far, his strong play had the Warriors on the ropes. So much for all of the talking, the Lakers had the Warriors down 3-1.

After the game, Shaq, Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley discussed the game on “Inside The NBA.” These guys are the faces of the NBA on TNT. When discussing the Anthony Davis injury, Shaq began crumpling paper. This was his way of calling Davis “soft,” given his history with injuries. As a result, Charles Barkley started laughing. After that, Shaq started laughing. Kenny “The Jet” Smith, meanwhile, was trying to give his commentary, but he began holding back laughter, too.
