Shauna Bishop, age 46, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy, was sentenced to one year in jail, after having sex with 16-year-old boy, and will have to register as a sex offender

A former Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy is headed to jail and will have to register as a sex offender. The jail sentence comes first and, once she is released, she will have to register. This follows her having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old boy.
Shauna Bishop is the former deputy in question and she just had her day in court. Bishop was first arrested, last year, when the boy’s father, who also worked on the force, pointed out their close relationship. He expressed to the boy’s mother that he felt Bishop was “grooming” him.
In July, Shauna Bishop pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful sexual intercourse, while the other four charges she faced were dismissed. On Wednesday, last week, Bishop was sentenced to one year in Sacramento County jail, five years probation, has to register as sex offender, and ordered to serve 180 days on work projects, upon being released.
