A little over a decade ago, Field Mob rose to prominence out of Georgia. Their style was very interesting and they managed to reinvent the hip hop love song. They burst onto the scene with their “Sick of Being Lonely” single with Torica and they returned in 2006 with their “So What” single with Ciara.
There are a lot of people who blindly bill Field Mob’s music as second rate. They immediately write Field Mob off because they have never taken the time out to listen to their music. Much like a lot of other people, Field Mob has a lot of good music under their belt.
Shawn Jay from Field Mob recently talked to DJ Smallz about his take on the music industry. He is a champion for real hip hop and Shawn Jay spoke on what he does and does not consider hip hop. With DJ Smallz, he explained that he does not consider a lot of the Georgia music to even be hip hop music.
