Reflecting on the series, Kemp, a three-time All-NBA forward, acknowledged Michael Jordan’s brilliance but emphasized that it was Rodman’s defensive prowess and relentless rebounding that disrupted the Sonics’ rhythm. “Everyone talks about MJ, and of course, he was phenomenal. But it was Rodman’s defensive play and his ability to control the boards that really threw us off,” Kemp said.

He did the dirty work that doesn’t always show up on the stat sheet but makes a huge difference in the game,” Kemp added.
