Yesterday, shocking news came when it was announced that famed comedian, Charlie Murphy, died. He was the older brother of the iconic comedian, Eddie Murphy. In fact, he opened the door for his brother to become the star he is.

However, while the mainstream media is discussing Charlie Murphy, there was another important death. In New York State, Shelia Abdus-Salaam made history as the first black Muslim Court Justice. During times like these, stories like hers are comforting.

Unfortunately, a few hours ago, however, Shelia Abdus-Salaam made headlines due to her death. It’s sad enough that she died, but the circumstances behind her death make it that much worse. The history-making judge was found in the Hudson River.
