As great as social media is, it is equally as bad, for a multitude of reasons. Among those reasons are predators who use social media to target more innocent people. While children know more, now, than ever before, they still have an innocence that older people lack.
In Simpsonville, South Carolina, an eleven-year-old boy was using the social media app, Snapchat. There is a strong chance he was using it without permission, but also a chance he had permission. Whatever the case, he met a grown man up there.
Trying to meet the man, the eleven year old boy stole his family’s car, and drove to Charleston. All of this was for him to meet a grown man that he was communicating with. The little boy was planning on living with this man, running away from home, but got lost, pulled over, and talked to an officer, as his father was tracking him.
