For those who have not yet had the chance to listen to An Ode To Reasonable Doubt, they have missed out. Brooklyn’s Skyzoo has held the game down for a long time and he did what few dared to do when he dedicated an entire project to Jay-Z. A lot of people say lyricism is coming back to hip hop, but Skyzoo proves it never left.
Skyzoo is one of the most-lyrical rappers in the game, this is true, and his content may be why mainstream never picked up on him. Fortunately, this wasn’t the case for every rapper with a message. Even though it came as a struggle, Lupe Fiasco has found a role within the mainstream.
Clearly, Skyzoo is a fan of the artform in addition to being an artist. This week, Skyzoo tweeted about attending Lupe Fiasco’s recent concert. Skyzoo had the chance to meet up with him backstage and he posted the photo on Instagram, hinting towards a new collaboration being in the works.
