Slim 112 talks Cupid selling 3 million copies with B HighIn 1996, 112 burst onto the scene, and became one of the biggest names in hip hop and R&B. This era was at the height of Bad Boy Records, as The Notorious B.I.G. was returning with his second album. During this time, 112 broke through with “Cupid.”

Slim was the lead vocalist, for 112, and they went on a run that lasted a decade. While the group has many hits, “Cupid” is the song they’re most-known for. This song was the beginning of a run that would end with the quartet known as legends.

Recently, Slim sat down with B High, at Hot 107.9, for an in-depth interview. In this clip, Slim discusses “Cupid” selling 3 million records. Before this, Slim said he asked Puff Daddy if they would be able to get out of the hood, just by singing, and the answer was “yes.”
