Slim Thug talks usage of the word “thug” with Don Lemon on CNN [VIDEO]

Given his name, Slim Thug has always used the word “thug” in his lyrics. But, if hip hop has taught one thing over the years, it’s that words are used for different meanings in hip hop. Sometimes this work, such as bad being good, and other times, it becomes controversial, such as the N-word.

Recently, Don Lemon of CNN has had a lot to say about rappers using the word “thug” in their lyrics. In one of his debates about the word, Don Lemon made the mistake of misquoting Slim Thug. Seeing how he operates, Slim Thug decided he would fight back.

During Don Lemon’s broadcast last night, Slim Thug appeared on the show. He engaged Don Lemon and they had a debate over the word “thug.” Slim Thug has used his rap name because he used to be slim and “thug” is just something he put at the end of his name and it is a phrase he often uses in his lyrics.
