Situations like these are why rappers should have taken The Source Awards more seriously, no shots at Snoop Dogg. But, more artists need to show up and support the Image Awards, Soul Train Awards, and the BET Awards. Honor them the same way they honor Grammys.
Snoop Dogg does have a strong point, a point that’s been made about all the major mainstream award shows. Rappers have historically been overlooked, at the Grammys, even when they won. This is the reason why Jay-Z boycotted the Grammys, for so long.
In calling the Grammys out, Snoop Dogg shared a chart, including a lot of hip hop legends. Including with the legends, The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac Shakur, Nas, Ice Cube, DMX, and himself, Snoop Dogg also included powerhouses, J. Cole and Nicki Minaj. But, the question is if things will ever change.
