Snoop Dogg reportedly gets kicked out of Long Beach by Rolling 20 Crips

Ultimately, Snoop Dogg was the rapper to remain from Los Angeles, when the dust settled. In the late 1980s and the early 1990s, the hip hop scene in Los Angeles emerged. Ruthless Records definitely helped put the movement on the map and Dr. Dre proved integral.

Following Dr. Dre’s departure from Ruthless, he formed Death Row with Suge Knight. In the end, Snoop Dogg became the franchise player for the label. Once he departed, Snoop had the popularity and consistency needed to take the industry on.

Snoop Dogg did a lot for the West Coast hip hop scene and he opened plenty of doors. However, in Long Beach, Snoop Dogg lost strong ties with some of the members of his former gang. According to rumors, Snoop Dogg visited his hometown and he was prompted by some Rolling 20 Crips to leave before things got tense.
