Back in the day, Snoop Dogg was one of the biggest gangsta rappers in the game and he was a member of Death Row Records. Initially, Snoop Dogg was heavily involved in the feud between Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, and Ruthless Records. Despite his admiration of Eazy-E, he recorded several diss records.
However, the gangsta image became very real when Tupac Shakur joined Death Row and began feuding with The Notorious B.I.G. It was not long before actual shots were fired, within six months. Tupac Shakur was dead and soon The Notorious B.I.G. was shot to death in Los Angeles.
Quite a bit has changed and Los Angeles is back on top of the hip hop world. Snoop Dogg, along with Game, helped usher in Kendrick Lamar. There are other rappers, such as ScHoolboy Q and Casey Veggies, also building the West. Snoop Dogg talked to “The Breakfast Club” on Power 105.1 about this, his name change, and the major feud.
