Back in 2009, Soulja Boy was in a highly publicized feud on social media with Ice T. This is after Ice T claimed that Soulja “singlehandedly killed hip-hop.” Soulja soon clowned Ice T on social media for playing the role of a cop on “Law and Order.”
In a recent interview with HotNewHipHop.com, Soulja discussed this beef. At this point, he has love for Ice T and soon proceeded to brag about himself. Soulja says that Ice T failed to see Soulja as a GOAT and the future.
“Man, I love Ice-T. Fuck all that shit. That shit was petty as hell. He was just confused. He didn’t know what was going on! He didn’t know I was the truth. He didn’t know I was the GOAT. He didn’t know he was looking at the future in his eyes! He didn’t know he was listening to the wave. He ain’t know. You can’t fault him for that.”
Soulja also believes that at the time, Ice T was “standing on morals and principles.” This is in regards to Ice T not being into the way hip-hop was at the time.
“When you fall out the mix, you gotta keep your ear to the street. That’s why I’m in tune with my youngin. Look, I got some youngins and I keep in tune with my youngins and I keep in tune with the streets. ‘Cause you gonna get lost in the sauce and end up beefing with the GOAT. That’s over with, man. You gotta show love to the younger generation and stand on your morals and principles. He was standing on his morals and principles. He didn’t like that type of music. You can’t do nothing but respect that.”
Soulja is also currently buzzing on social media for his “She Make It Clap” single. This record has been very popular on apps such as TikTok. It also topped the Billboard Top Triller US chart.
