Towards the end of 2018, Soulja Boy got back focused on the music, announcing a new deal with eOne. Claiming the deal was worth a few million, Soulja Boy said his goal was to make $40 million in 2019. Much of this would likely come from his video game business venture.
However, in 2018, when it came to music, Tyga had one of the biggest hits of the summer, “Taste,” featuring Offset. The song was an unexpected hit. Given how far Tyga had fallen, few people saw him coming with such a big hit.
When most music outlets did their 2018 wrapups, Tyga was listed as the top comeback. This set Soulja Boy off, as he made a series of posts on social media, leading into yesterday’s “Breakfast Club” interview, where he ranted on Tyga, in addition to Drake. This morning, he continued the rant, showing Tyga in his video from a decade ago, to which Tyga commented “thank you for the opportunity.”
