South African rapper AKA passes away after shooting
AKA has been one of the hottest artists out of South Africa, as he’s had lot of momentum heading into 2023. However, his life was cut short, after a shooting on Friday night.
According to News24, AKA was shot and killed outside of a restaurant in the city of Durban. However, no arrests have been made, in this incident. In addition to AKA, another man was also shot, who also passed away.
“I can confirm that two men were killed and one of them is a well-known rapper,” said police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda said. Police will not [release] any names of the victims yet until a full investigation is completed.”
As a result, AKA’s team has since released a statement on his Instagram page. They confirmed his passing, and explained how he always showed people love, who did that for him. They also asked to keep AKA’s family in their prayers and uplifted in the Lord.
Prior to AKA’s death, he was planning to release his new “Mass Country” album, on February 24. That project is led by singles such as “Lemons” featuring Nasty C and “Prada” featuring Khuli Chana.
