For decades, there has been political debate, surrounding abortions. Many people are anti-abortion and vote, singularly, on that issue. These people hope that abortions will be banned, effectively overturning Roe v. Wade.
The state of South Carolina was a state highly discussed, during the 2020 election season. There was a hotly contested Senate election. Among the key issues, in that race, was abortion.
Now, the South Carolina State House has passed a bill, restricting abortions. The State Senate passed this proposal, on January 28, and it faces a final procedural vote, on Thursday. SC governor, Henry McMaster, has promised to sign the measure, which will ban nearly all abortions, in the state.
