Here’s a big reason black cinema is even getting a look, at the Oscars, let alone demanding the well-deserved wins. Spike Lee took the plunge when many were afraid to. In the face of adversity, Spike Lee came and made some iconic movies that told the truth.

Nearly forty years later, Spike Lee is still using his films to tell it like it is, with BlackKklansman being his latest movie. That film, he worked on with Jordan Peele. Tonight, his film, along with Black Panther were up for the Best Film, but lost out.

Spike Lee, once again, kept it real, and told it how it was. The Academy had nerve to ask Spike Lee his opinion on Green Book winning Best Film. Times like these, no response is the proper response, so Spike sipped his champagne, and then asked for the next question.
