Famed filmmaker, Spike Lee, helped usher a lot of people into the acting industry. However, his run was more during the late 1980s into the mid-1990s. But, the past decade has seen the likes of Lee Daniels and Tyler Perry establish themselves as the top filmmakers and producers.
Quite a bit has taken place over the past few years, including Chicago becoming much more of a warzone. Not only is Chicago a place where hundreds of lives are lost a week, many raised there are rising to stardom. In fact, Chicago star, Lil Durk, talked to Hip Hop Vibe about his music.
Spike Lee is still active when making films and he has decided to take on the ongoing situation in Chicago. The violence there has been portrayed in documentaries, but has not actually been illustrated. This will be done in the form of the film, Chiraq, which Spike Lee is now working on.
