The world of “Empire” has been massively shaken up, with Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) dying in her brawl with Anika (Grace Gealey). But, because she has info on Lucious (Terrence Howard), Anika lives on as his wife. Still, Tariq (Morocco Omari) is trying to nail Lucious.
Hakeem (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray) is stuck dealing with his daughter also being his stepsister. Meanwhile, Jamal (Jussie Smollett) is dealing with some form of PTSD after being shot. It all pales in comparison to Andre (Trai Byers) being bipolar and his wife dying.
Last week’s episode ended with Andre getting a handle on his life and cleaning out his home with Rhonda. Because of race, the cops are called on him and they begin to beat him. This sets the stage for a thrilling week of “Empire,” as they “went there,” plus there is a guest appearance from Mariah Carey.

Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) calls in a favor with mega-superstar Kitty (Mariah Carey) to record a new song with Jamal, hoping he will overcome his inability to perform.
Meanwhile, Andre runs into some trouble and things don’t go as planned.
Hakeem (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray) and Gram (guest star Romeo Miller) fight for Tiana’s (Serayah) attention.
Lucious and Cookie are at odds, as Lucious aims to be in sole control of Empire, once again.
Things heat up between Cookie and Angelo Dubois (Taye Diggs).
Andre is in court, facing charges for assaulting a police officer and he may take a dark change.
