With the Black Lives Matter movement going stronger than ever, it is tough being black in mainstream media. Everyone is expecting those people to say something. But, the stance Sage Steele has taken has the black audience up in arms.
Sage Steele is an ESPN analyst and commentator who has spoken out against athletes not standing for the National Anthem. Many of her comments have rubbed people the wrong way. Her latest ones have led to an all-out backlash.
Essence tweeted an excerpt of their Sage Steele interview, where she speaks on problems in the black community. In her opinion, Sage Steele says problems arise because black people are not diverse enough. All over social media, people have erupted to denounce Sage Steele over these comments.
