After his 2008 NCAA performance, many felt Steph Curry would declare for the draft. Instead, he waited a year, going for the draft in 2009.
Steph Curry joined a Golden State Warriors team that was going through rebuilding. In 2007 and 2008, the Warriors posted their first winning records in years. The 2007 run saw the Warriors make the playoffs, historically upsetting the Dallas Mavericks. This was the same year 2 Chainz got his first taste of fame.
In 2007, 2 Chainz was still Tity Boi, and one half of Playaz Circle. That year, 2 Chainz had his hit single, “Duffle Bag Boy,” as Playaz Circle, with Lil Wayne. It would be four years before 2 Chainz would get another shot at fame. Comparable, Steph Curry and 2 Chainz took matters into their own hands, and both became stars. With Steph, he turned the Warriors into a dynasty. 2 Chainz, meanwhile, built his own dynasty. Tonight, NBA fans were waiting to see the Three Point Contest, but instead they had to watch Steph Curry compete with 2 Chainz, first. On Twitter, they complained about this.
