Stephen A. Smith clarifies comments about Rihanna

On Wednesday, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith was getting roasted heavily on social media, in regards to comments about Rihanna. This was due to him appearing on the “Sherri Show,” and claimed that Rihanna “ain’t Beyoncé.” This is in regards to discussing Rih’s upcoming Super Bowl halftime show performance.

“Rihanna’s music is fantastic. She’s great. She’s a sister. I love her dearly, I listen to her music, I’m gonna support her ’til the cows come home. I’m just telling you, for me, there’s Beyoncé and there’s everybody else. Just like there’s Michael Jackson and there’s everybody else. Ladies and gentlemen, [Rihanna is] a lot of things. She’s spectacular actually and congratulations on new mamahood. There’s one thing she’s not — she ain’t Beyoncé.”

However, Stephen A. is definitely now feeling the heat, on social media. As a result, he’s now posted a video to social media, emphasizing how much respect he has for Rihanna. Therefore, in regards to Beyoncé, Stephen A. believed that she’s the Super Bowl performance standard.

“I meant it as no disrespect to Rihanna. I know she’s phenomenal and she’s my sister. Nothing but love for her, but Beyoncé is my sister, too.”
