On October 19, it will mark the 5-year anniversary of Summer Walker’s debut “Last Day Of Summer” mixtape. At the time, that project contained 12 songs, as well as her breakout smash hit single, “Girls Need Love.” Furthermore, is now 5x platinum status in the US.
Meanwhile, Summer Walker is preparing for the 5-year anniversary of Last Day Of Summer in a big way. She teased the release of a new remix to Girls Need Love, on Instagram, as that’d include a huge feature from Victoria Monét, who is now becoming one of R&B’s biggest stars. In this video, Walker is seen acting as a therapist to internet sensation Terri Joe, as the new Girls Need Love remix is seen on Walker’s Spotify playlist, at the end of the ad.
However, no official release date for this new Girls Need Love remix has been unveiled just yet. The first remix featured Drake in July 2019, and became one of the most popular songs of the year.
Moreover, this comes after Summer Walker was honored with her own day in her hometown of Atlanta, on September 23. This was for her work in the community. Coincidentally, that event was also on the last day of summer.
