Summer Walker stormed onto the scene at the end of 2018 with her breakout hit single, “Girls Need Love.” In January of 2019, the Atlanta native released the official remix to this record featuring Drake. From that point, it would go on to become one of the hottest records of the year and appeared on her debut studio album, ‘Over It,’ that fall.
Girls Need Love feat. Drake continues to be regarded as one of Walker’s best songs to date and fans are still having it in rotation. According to Chart Data, it has now officially been certified 3x platinum by the RIAA in the US. This is after it sold 3 million units. As of now, the original Girls Need Love music video has accumulated over 80 million views on YouTube. Girls Need Love feat. Drake
Walker’s Over It album also reached platinum status as it became one of the best R&B projects of 2019. It initially debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. This summer, Walker released her five-track ‘Life On Earth EP’ as well.
