If Sway Calloway buys into the saying “if they’re talking about you, you’re doing something right,” he must be very happy with himself. Sway Calloway returned to MTV in 2006 and he was more than a personality during his second stint, which continues to this day. Also allowed to develop and executive produce programs for MTV, Sway Calloway delivered MTV’s “Hottest MCs in the Game.”
Rick Ross dubbed Sway the “new Fab 5 Freddy,” but his legacy goes much deeper than that. A living legend in urban media, Sway Calloway graduated from being solely hip hop when he conducted an interview with President Obama. While Sway got presidential during the election, his home is in hip hop, which redirects the attention to the “Hottest MCs in the Game.”
Kanye West called into DJ Enuff and ranted on Sway, claiming he purchased his first TV set, and he also said Lil Wayne deserved to top the list. Hearing the interview, Lil Wayne eventually responded to Kanye West via Twitter, saying he was honored to hear him say that. Sway thanked Kanye, via Twitter, for his first TV, but wanted to know where the remote was.
