Ten years ago, Swizz Beatz played a major role in revitalizing the Philadelphia hip hop scene when he signed Cassidy to his Full Surface label. Known as a battle rapper, Cassidy impressed Jay-Z when he battled Freeway, defeating his fellow Phily rapper. Now, many view Cassidy as old and have chosen Meek Mill over him in their feud.
Swizz Beatz has had the opportunity to work with both Cassidy and Meek Mill. The edge in the feud is given to Cassidy, but no one is denying Meek Mill’s ability to make consistent hit records. Recently, the feud between Cassidy and Meek Mill has gotten more personal.
During his interview with Global Grind, Swizz Beatz spoke on the ongoing feud with his former artist, Cassidy, and Meek Mill. Offering his opinion on the feud, Swizz Beatz also spoke on the gun control laws, which brought up Chief Keef. Swizz Beatz said that everything is bigger than Chief Keef, it is about the youth and he is the current poster child.
