SZA takes home most awards at 2023 Soul Train Awards
On Sunday night, the annual Soul Train Awards were held from Los Angeles, as it was aired on BET. As a result, SZA dominated the night, as she won the most awards, of the evening. Usher came in at second, with three, and Victoria Monét at three, with two.
SZA won four Soul Train Awards on Sunday night, as many of those included some of he biggest awards available. Those included Best R&B/Soul Female Artist, Album of the Year for her 2022 sophomore album “SOS,” Song of the Year: for “Snooze,” as well as The Ashford and Simpson Songwriter’s Award: for “Snooze.”
Snooze appeared on SOS, and started to become a major hit, after the album was released. SOS initially spent its first seven weeks at number one in the US, on the Billboard 200 chart. SOS spent 10 weeks in total, at number one. Furthermore, Snooze also praked at number two in the US, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The video for it also featured a cameo from Justin Bieber, as he also was featured on the acoustic version of this hit record.
Meanwhile, SZA is also preparing to release the deluxe version of SOS, which is titled “Lana.” She initially announced this project a few months ago, as she recently hinted at a December release.
