SZA wins Top R&B Album and more, at Billboard Music Awards
The annual Billboard Music Awards are being held in Las Vegas tonight, as the biggest names in music are being honored. The winners of many categories have already been unveiled, including for Top R&B Album.
As a result, SZA took him the Top R&B Album category, for her 2022 “SOS” album. This serves as her sophomore album, which was released in December. This was her first album since her 2017 debut studio album “Ctrl,” and also went on to debut atop the Billboard 200 chart.
Furthermore, SOS contained 23 songs, which were led by singles such as “Shirt,” “Good Days,” and “Kill Bill.” Moreover, Kill Bill went on to reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, this past spring. That marked SZA’s first ever number one single. On SOS, she also collaborated with Travis Scott. Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers, and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard. SOS spent its first seven weeks at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, and 10 in total.
At the BBMAs, SZA also took home victories in many other categories. These included Top R&B Song, Top R&B Artist, and Top Female R&B Artist. Coming into Sunday night, SZA was the second most nominated artist at the BBMAs, with an impressive 17.
