SZA joins Adele and Taylor Swift as only female artists to have an album spend at least seven weeks at number one on Billboard 200, this century

SZA’s “SOS” has new Billboard 200 record after 7th week at No. 1

This weekend, SZA officially clinched its seven straight week at number one in the US, on the Billboard 200 chart, with her “SOS” album. It sold an additional 111,000 units, and 1,108,000 in total, since its December 9 release. At the time, SOS also had the biggest R&B streaming week ever.

According to Chart Data, SOS has reached several more milestones. It’s now the longest running Billboard 200 number one album by a female artist since Taylor Swift‘s ‘folklore’. SZA also joins Adele and Taylor as the only female artists to have an album spend at least seven weeks at number on the Billboard 200, this century.

SOS was initially led by singles such as “Good Days,” “I Hate U” and “Shirt.” “Kill Bill” and “Nobody Gets Me” have since been added as the latest singles. SZA released the visuals for Kill Bill a few weeks ago, as it also included a cameo by Vivica A. Fox. This single is also at platinum eligibility in the US.

SZA now arguably has two straight classic albums under her belt. Her last project came in 2017, which was her debut studio album, “Ctrl.” That saw a number three debut in the US.
