SZA says “Lana” album will not include leaked songs
Earlier today, a now-deleted tweet by SZA went viral, as she claimed that her upcoming “Lana” album will be recorded from scratch. This comes as a result of her voicing her displeasure about songs from this project recently being leaked.
“So, we’ll make this really simple, Y’all leaked three songs from the deluxe. At this point, y’all can keep the throwaways and leaks. I’ll be starting ‘Lana’ from scratch. Do not ask me about it again. Thank you.” She added in a follow-up: “I’ll round up the leaks y’all already got and u can have those. Seems like a fair deal. ENJOY.”
However, SZA went on to address this situation again, on Tuesday night, on Twitter/X. She revealed that the album will not contain any of the leaked songs. Moreover, she added that Lana will be out “ASAP” as well, and that the album deserves more time and music that no one has ever heard before. Thereforer, Lana will become a completely new album. SZA even called out a fan who leaked several songs and an unreleased photo.
SZA initially announced the Lana album, last August, at an event in New York City. She went on to tease various cover arts for it in December, but never dropped an official release date. That is still the case, as many hope it arrives by the summer. This would be the deluxe to her 2022 Billboard 200 chart-topping and Grammy-winning “SOS” album.
