SZA to be honored with Billboard’s 2023 Woman Of The Year award
SZA is named Billboard’s 2023 Woman Of The Year
SZA has been dominant on the charts over the past two months, with her new sophomore album, “SOS.” This initially debuted at number one in the US, on the Billboard 200 chart, and spent seven straight weeks at that top position. This week, it also returned SZA, after a brief second place position, for a week.
SZA’s “SOS” contains 23 songs, as 20 initially debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. “Kill Bill” has also been the latest single, which has peaked at number two in the US, and is at platinum eligibility.
However, the accolades keep on rolling in, for SZA. She has now been named Billboard’s 2023 Woman Of The Year. This award will be presented to her at the Billboard Women in Music Awards, on March 1. It will be held inside the YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park in Los Angeles.
“Since she burst onto the scene in 2017, SZA has defied genres and continually released raw, powerful songs which have landed her music on the Billboard charts,” said Hannah Karp, Billboard’s editorial director, in a press statement. “The release of her latest album, SOS, has solidified her as a distinct force in contemporary R&B, and catapulted her into superstardom. We can’t wait to honor her as Woman of the Year.”
SZA is also venturing on her “SOS” North American Tour, this month. The first show will begin on the 21st, in Columbus, OH. 17 dates will be available, as the tour will conclude on March 22, in Los Angeles.
