SZA wanted Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, Frank Ocean, and more, on “SOS”

SZA reveals list of features that didn’t appear on “SOS”

On Friday, SZA’s sophomore album, “SOS,” officially debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. This also becomes her first number one album overall, and earned the biggest R&B streaming week, ever.

On SOS, SZA treated fans to 23 songs, including lead singles such as “Good Days,” “I Hate U,” and “Shirt.” She also collaborated with Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers, and Ol’ Dirty Bastard.

Prior to SOS’ release, SZA revealed to Hot 97, that many artists did not turn in their verses, for the album. She explained how she was disappointed in this, but was grateful for the artists who did show up for her.

“Sometimes people turn in their verses and sometimes they don’t. A lot of people just like, did not turn in their verses. But I’m grateful for who did.”

On Friday, SZA also uploaded a “SOS Where The Hell Have You Been?” video to YouTube. There, behind-the-scenes footage displayed a list of features on a white board. Among them included Kendrick Lamar, Doja Cat, Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, Frank Ocean, and even more potential star-studded features. These were artists that SZA wanted on the album, but ultimately didn’t land on it.

SOS was also SZA’s first project, since her 2017 debut studio album, “Ctrl.” At the time, that saw a number three debut in the US. Many fans have since viewed SOS as just as great of an album as Ctrl, and possibly even better.
