SZA’s “I Hate U,” Becomes Her First Solo Single, to Debut in The Top 10 of Billboard Hot 100 Chart

Last week, SZA finally released her “I Hate U” record, which wasn’t available on streaming outlets. At the time, it was only available on Soundcloud. Following the release of I Hate U on streaming platforms, the reaction was overwhelmingly positive.

I Hate U has since had an amazing first week, as it has now debuted at number seven, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. According to Chart Data, this now becomes the her first ever solo single, to debut in the top 10. The singer also took to Instagram to thank her supporters, for helping I Hate U, get to this point, already.

“Y’all really took a song from SoundCloud and made it number one for 7 days straight . No promo no radio . no nada. Jus YALLS LOVE . I AM SO BEYOND THANKFUL TO HAVE YOU ALL IN MY LIFE! Thank you to my fire ass team for helping me get this song on streaming asap 🥺! artwork and all !! I love y’all . 🧡 keep running up I HATE YOU BUT DONT MEAN IT TOO MUCH.”

SZA has had a phenomenal year overall, as she also appeared on one of the biggest songs in the world. This is Doja Cat’s “Kiss Me More” single, which has since been nominated for three Grammys.

Fans also hope that I Hate U is finally a sign that SZA’s sophomore album will finally be on the way. The last time that fans received a project from her, was her debut album, “Ctrl,” way back in June 2017.
