SZA has been taking over the charts since early December, as she released her sophomore album, “SOS.” That easily debuted at number one in the US, on the Billboard 200 chart. It has since remained at that top spot, for six straight weeks.
SOS’ momentum isn’t slowing down anytime soon, as it’s currently on its way to a seventh straight week at number ons. According to Chart Data, the album is projected to sell an additional 113,000 units. This will also become the longest running number one album by a female artist since Taylor Swift’s ‘folklore. ‘
SOS contains 23 songs, and is led by singles such as “Good Days,” “I Hate U,” “Shirt” and the latest “Kill Bill” single. 20 songs initially debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. SOS also had the biggest R&B streaming week ever, in the first week of its release.
Fans waited for this release for a very kind time, as SOS was SZA’s first project since June 2017. At the time, she put out her debut studio album, “Ctrl.” That was regarded by many as a classic R&B album.
