SZA’s “SOS” album reaches 5x platinum eligibility
SZA has had a massive past year, due to the success of her sophomore album, “SOS.” This project was initially released in December 2022, and went on to become her first number one album in the US. Moreover, it was also the singer’s first project since her 2017 debut studio album, “Ctrl.”
Meanwhile, SOS has reached another massive milestone. It is now at 5x platinum legibility in the US. This comes after selling over 5 million units, according to Chart Data.
SOS initially contained 23 songs, and was led by hits such as “Shirt” and “Good Days.” “Kill Bill” soon emerged as a new fan-favorite, and claimed the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, in February 2023. Furthermore, “Snooze” also became consistent top 10 hit. On SOS, SZA also collaborated with Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers, Travis Scott, and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard.
Last month, SZA also took him three more Grammy wins. She was the most nominated artist for 2024, as well. These wins came in the categories of Best R&B Song (Snooze), Best Urban Contemporary Album (SOS) and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (Ghost In The Machine ft. Phoebe Bridgers)
In late February, SZA also put out her first single of 2024. This was “Saturn,” as she initially previewed this while performing at the Apple Music Live concert, that month. This debuted at number six in the US, and is expected to appear on SZA’s upcoming “Lana” album.
