SZA’s “SOS” becomes second most streamed album by a female artist in 2022, on Spotify

SZA’s SOS is 2nd most streamed female album of 2022 on Spotify

This month, SZA finally released her highly anticipated sophomore album, “SOS.” This went on to sell an impressive 318,000 units in the US, as it easily debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. This was also officially SZA’s first number one album of her career.

SOS was led by hit singles such as “Good Days,” “I Hate U” and “Shirt.” 23 songs were available in total, as SZA also collaborated with Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers, and Ol’ Dirty Bastard. 20 songs from the album went on to debut on the Billboard Hot 100, as “Kill Bill” is the number three song on the chart. SOS is also currently the number one album in the US for the second straight week.

SOS is also putting up major streaming records. This includes having the biggest R&B streaming week ever. Now, it has reached the milestone of being the second most streamed female album of the year on Spotify. SZA surprised Rosalía’s “Motomami.”

In February, SZA will also be kicking off her SOS North American Tour. This will begin on February 21 in Columbus, OH, and conclude on March 22, in Los Angeles. Two dates will be available, in LA. Many of these shows have been selling out quickly, due to the success of SOS, as well as this being SZA’s first project since “Ctrl,” way back in June 2017.
