No artist has been criticized the way T.I. has over the past three years. For the most part, everyone was disappointed in T.I. There was no one as disappointed in T.I. as he, himself, was. This was expressed in his No Mercy album, which many feel is T.I.’s worst effort, to date.
What was supposed to be a triumph over all of his obstacles, No Mercy wound up being an album filled with self-contempt. Two years later, T.I. is back with Trouble Man: Heavy is the Head. During the promo run for this album, T.I. has been very candid, telling people to get over themselves, No Mercy was him apologizing to himself.
Back, T.I. spoke to Vlad TV about who Trouble Man was directed at. T.I. said the album targets those who abandoned him. Understanding why corporations left him alone, T.I. directed his album at the people who turned their back. Last week, T.I. released his eighth studio album.
