T.I. receives Phoenix Award in Atlanta

For over 20 years now, T.I. has been one of the most iconic rappers to come out of Atlanta, and the south in general. A week ago, he also celebrated 20 years of his 2003 sophomore album, “Trap Muzik.” This was done with two concerts in his hometown of Atlanta, as he performed two nights with a live orchestra. These were held inside the Atlanta Symphony Hall.

Moreover, T.I. was also honored at these shows with the highest honor by elected officials in Atlanta. This is with the Phoenix Award, as this was given due to the rapper’s philanthropic and humanitarian efforts in the city. Mayor Andre Dickens, former Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Senator Raphael Warnock, and Phillana William All jointed T.I. on stage, to bless him with the award. This award also comes after he recently opened up affordable housing units in his native west side of Atlanta, as he was joined by Mayor Dickens there, as well.

“Humbly honored for us to have received this highest honor by Mayor Andre Dickens and the City of Atlanta,” T.I. said, regarding the award. “Dis is for Trap Muzik, 20 years later. Happy to have shared this illustrious moment wit my wife and the rest of my family, along wit da people in da City.”

Furthermore, T.I. concluded his 2023 by releasing his “Vacay” single with Kamo Mphela. He’s also working on his final album, which is a double album, “Kiss The King” and “Kill The King.”
