T-Pain talks hiatus, beef with Future, and sings without auto-tune on “Sway In The Morning” [VIDEO]

T-Pain SwayThe summer of 2005 introduced a lot of new artists and one that looked like he was headed toward legendary status was T-Pain. He released his debut album in the summer and he released his “I’m Sprung” single that did well. However, T-Pain’s second single came early in 2006 and made him a star, “I’m In Luv (Wit A Stripper).”

Until the summer of 2007, the world would not hear anything else from T-Pain, but he returned strongly. His “Buy U A Drank” single with Yung Joc took off and soon T-Pain was working with R. Kelly, T.I., and many other big names. Where a lot of people thought T-Pain would fall off, he rose, having a dominant 2008.

Continuing his run into 2009, T-Pain saw the whole game embrace auto-tune and it became mundane. Jay-Z ended up abolishing rappers for “T-Paining too much” on his comeback record, “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune).” T-Pain talked to Sway at Shade 45 for “Sway In The Morning” about this, his hiatus, Future, and sang without auto-tune.
