Takeoff shooting suspect granted $5,000 for private investigator
Last week, an arrest was finally made, in connection to the shooting that took Takeoff’s life. The suspect placed in custody was 33-year-old Patrick Xavier Clark, as he was arrested in Houston. His bail was soon set at $2 million.
However, Clark made if known that he couldn’t afford to pay a private investigator. This would cost him $5,000, as he went on to ask a judge for these funds. Now, this motion has officially been granted, which gets that $5k to Clark, according to NBC News. The rate for this PI was also initially stated to cost $85 per hour. It is being stated now, that Clark is receiving a discounted rate.
This PI will also receive a printer and laptop, which is provided by the local sheriff’s office. Clark recently appeared in court, where his legal team maintained his innocence. Despite that, it was revealed that Clark purchased an expedited passport, in order to flee to Mexico.
Takeoff was initially shot outside of 810 Billiards & Bowling. That occurred after an argument occurred between Quavo and a group of men. 10 shots went on to be fired, as Takeoff was caught in the middle of it, in the head and torso.
