Last week, Talib Kweli delivered hip hop its annual dose of socially conscious rap in the form of Prisoner of Conscious. Talib Kweli’s new album came in the midst of a trying time for hip hop, as a whole. Two of the biggest stars in the game, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne, made huge mistakes in their lyrics that cost them millions.

Many of the biggest stars in the game have offered their opinions on the situation and most have come to the defense of Rick Ross and Lil Wayne. Mistakes were made in their lyrics, no doubt, but Reebok and Mountain Dew definitely made sound investments. However, Ross and Wayne have learned valuable lessons.

Talib Kweli stopped by Power 105.1 this morning to talk to “The Breakfast Club.” During the interview, Talib Kweli talked about the situation with Rick Ross and Lil Wayne. Offering his take on “the situation,” Talib Kweli talked about Prisoner of Conscious and his upcoming book.
