Taraji P. Henson reveals #EmpireFOX season two premiere date

The 2014-2015 television season was a winner for FOX, with “Empire,” the hip hop-based drama, starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson. Based on the hip hop world and boasting real hip hop stars, the show was a winner. “Empire” broke many records in its first season.

Following season one of “Empire,” fans wanted more of the show, as it was only twelve airings. Lee Daniels, the series creator, wanted another short season. The compromise was eighteen airings, but a split season, with a midseason hiatus.

“Empire” is the most-discussed show on television and fans want to know when season two begins. Yesterday, Taraji P. Henson announced when the second season of “Empire” would premiere. Taking to Twitter, she revealed September 23 is when “Empire” returns to FOX at 9 pm, on Wednesdays.
