Taylor Swift & SZA lead with most nominations for 2023 MTV VMAs
The annual MTV VMAs are set to be held on September, in Newark, NJ. This will be held inside the Prudential Center, as that venue has started to become the permanent host of the VMAs.
Meanwhile, the official list of nominees for the upcoming 2023 VMAs have officially been revealed. Taylor Swift has the most nominations for this year, with eight in total. SZA comes in at second, with six. There are also 35 first-time VMAs nominees, such as GloRilla, Ice Spice, Pink Pantheress, and Kaliii.
In the Video Of The Year Category, this includes Doja Cat’s “Attention,” Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers,” Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl,” Olivia Rodrigo’s “Vampire, ” Sam Smith & Kim Petras’ – “Unholy,” SZA’s – “Kill Bill,” and Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero.” Furthermore, the Artist Of The Year category nominated Beyoncé, Doja Cat, Karol G, Nicki Minaj, Shakira, and Taylor Swift. In the Best New Artist Category, this sees GloRilla, Ice Spice, Kaliii, Peso Pluma, PinkPantheress, and Reneé Rapp being nominated.
The category for Best Hip-Hop includes nominees of Diddy ft. Bryson Tiller, Ashanti, Yung Miami for “Gotta Move On”
DJ Khaled ft. Drake & Lil Baby’s “Staying Alive,” GloRilla & Cardi B’s “Tomorrow 2,” Lil Uzi Vert’s “Just Wanna Rock,” Lil Wayne, Swizz Beatz & DMX’s “Kant Nobody,” Metro Boomin and Future’s “Superhero (Heroes and Villains),” and Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl.”
Best R&B also contains some amazing artists and records. Among them are Alicia Keys and Lucky Daye’s “Stay,” Chlöe and Chris Brown’s “How Does It Feel,” Metro Boomin, The Weeknd, 21 Savage, and Diddy’s “Creepin’ (Remix),” SZA’s “Shirt,” Toosii’s “Favorite Song,” and Yung Bleu & Nicki Minaj – “Love In The Way.”
