Tems is highest charting Nigerian female artist on the Billboard 200

Last week, Tems released her highly anticipated debut album, “Born In The Wild.” 18 songs were released, which were led by singles such as ”Love Me JeJe” and “Me & U.” Moreover, Tems also collaborated with J. Cole and Asake.

Furthermore, on Monday, Tems’ Born In The Wild album debuted at number 55 in the US, on the Billboard 200 chart. As a result, that now makes Tems the highest charting Nigerian female artist on the Billboard 200, according to Chart Data.

This debut album was in the works by Tems since 2021, as it’s also her first project since that year. At the time, she put out her “If Orange Was A Place” EP. In early 2023, she also won her first Grammy, for her appearance on Future and Drake’s Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping “Wait For U” single.

On June 12, Tems also kicked off her Born In The Wild World Tour, in London. She will be venturing in the UK & Europe until August 22, as the North American leg of the tour will begin in Miami Beach. African and Australian dates will be coming in the fall, as well.
